The development of the material for the Mabou fragrance sculptures and boxes took several years of research and development. The products consist of a special mixture of minerals that enables optimum fragrance absorption and release while still allowing a delicate design.

Our sculptures absorb the fragrance oil completely within 5-7 days and become visibly dark in color.

After approx. 2–3 months, the bottle is emptied and the remaining fragrance oil is still in the sculpture until it dries out completely.

The evaporation rate depends on many factors, such as the humidity or temperature of the room. On average, however, it takes between 2 and 3 months for our sculptures to dry out.

As soon as the wick of the fragrance sculpture is placed in the bottle, the sculpture soaks up the fragrance oil and turns dark in color. When the fragrance oil is completely used up, the sculpture slowly dries out and returns to its original light gray color. The sculpture can then be refilled and the process starts all over again.

Yes. The scent sample set itself is free, you only pay for shipping: €4.95 to Germany and Austria, €8.95 to the other EU countries we deliver to. Any shipping costs for your scent samples will be credited to your next order. We will send you the voucher code by email. Yes. Refills for our products are always available from selected retailers and in our online shop.

No. We advise against using other fragrance oils, as our oils have been developed specifically for their application. Using other products can make the product unstable.

We advise against this as well. Even some time after use, our sculptures still carry the fragrance used before. Refilling with a different oil from our range therefore creates a mixed scent that we cannot recommend.

Wipe the sculpture regularly with a lint-free paper towel and a little water to remove dust or deposits from the surface.

The gemstones can be taken out of the box, washed with warm water and put back into the case once dry.

Always let your candle burn until the top layer of wax has melted completely. This way it burns down evenly.

No longer than 4 hours at a time, as the vessel can otherwise overheat.

Yes. Before each relighting, trim the wick to about 1 cm with sharp scissors and remove any burnt residue. This keeps the flame clean and calm.

A Mabou scented candle burns for approx. 40 hours. It is filled with 500 g of natural, purely plant-based rapeseed wax.

Don't place your candle too close to a wall or other sensitive surfaces. Don't burn it in a draft or near a heat source, never leave it unattended, and don't move it while it is burning. Keep it away from children, pets and flammable objects. Never use liquid to put it out.

Yes. Every concrete vessel is hand-cast and unique, handmade in Germany, and can be reused after the candle is finished.

Yes. Mabou delivers to Germany, Austria and many other European countries. You will see all available delivery countries at checkout.

We do our best to deliver orders as quickly as possible. Delays are often caused by the parcel services rather than by us.

As a rule, your order arrives within 3–5 working days on average. Deliveries to other EU countries may take a little longer.

Shipping to Germany and Austria costs €4.95 and is free for orders of €100 or more. Shipping to the other EU countries we deliver to costs €8.95.
